MDF Tramagal Indústrias de Fundição, Lda. has its roots in the workshop of Duarte Ferreira, who started the foundry business in 1882 in the parish of Tramagal, Municipality of Abrantes. In 1947 became known as the Metalúrgica Duarte Ferreira, from which comes the acronym MDF.
The current plant, with a production capacity of 4,000 tons / year and a covered area of 16,000 m2, was inaugurated in 1967.
Re-opened in 2000, after the purchasing of the foundry by CMW, MDF is dedicated to the production of large steel and iron castings, with weight up to 10 tons.

In continuous expansion and with a production capacity that places the company at the highest European level, MDF relies on the quality of its products and the expertise of its technicians. The target markets are the extraction of minerals, ceramics, shipbuilding, public works, energy, etc..
The current MDF combines a young and dynamic team, highly skilled workforce, with a tradition of more than a century producing high quality steel.
