Cruz Martins & Wahl, Lda., is a foundry of steel and alloyed iron, expert in wear resistant materials. The company was founded on the 30th October 1981 by Mr. Cruz Martins as Cruz Martins & C ª. Lda. and, in 1984, the German company Vautid, headquartered in Stuttgart, was admitted as partner, passing, then, the denomination of the company to be the same as today, Cruz Martins & Wahl, Lda.

Still in 1984 was initiated the industrial production in the plant located in Lousado, Vila Nova de Famalicão. Following the expansion of the company it was built a new plant that became operational in 1994, at the same location. In 2000 it was acquired a third manufacturing plant located in Tramagal, Abrantes.

The factory CMW1 products are manufactured with high chromium white iron alloys by means of an automatic green sand molding machine. In the second factory, CMW2, we produce steel castings and refractory alloys, stainless steels, high manganese and bimetallic, in manual and automatic self-setting sand molding systems. At MDF Tramagal we have the larger plant, suitable for the manufacture of castings weighing up to 10 tons.

The parts produced by CMW are to be embedded in equipments working in the most extreme conditions of wear caused by abrasion, corrosion, high temperatures or a combination of these forms of wear. The production capacity is over 7500 tons of castings per year, being more than 80% exported.
